?Akin to the marshmallow, herbalists have used this plant because of its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent activity, this plant is a wonderful demulcent or agent that relives inflammation and irritation.
Used also because of its highly emollient action. Emollients are ingredients that maintain the soft, smooth and pliable appearance of the skin, which function by their ability to remain on the skins surface without any residual tackiness or shine or by being absorbed into the stratum corneum, the skins natural barrier to moisture loss, where they act as lubricants, to reduce flaking and ultimately improve the skins appearance.
