Blackcurrant seed oil is one of the richest sources of gamma linolenic acid or GLA, an anti-inflammatory agent, along with other important polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as steariodonic acid, which is conditionally essential within the skin as it is unable to make in in situ.

Blackcurrant Seed Oil is very rich in antioxidants and gamma-linolenic acid making it a highly effective anti-inflammatory agent, is vitamin rich and also contains steriodonic acid, also high amounts of omegas 3 and 6.
This oil is said to increase elasticity in the skin, and can be used to protect and nourish skin tissues preventing chronic skin conditions, such as dermatitis and eczema. It can also be used to slow premature aging.
